August 2024 - Mine Train Coaster Contest!
Hey everyone!
The mine train coaster is a coaster type which you will see in many real parks as a family coaster! They often have multiple lift hills, and most of the times they have some nice theming! In Rollercoaster Tycoon the first mine train coaster you will encounter is probably in Dynamite Dunes, but you will also find one in Katie's Dreamland! You will also find a good example in the Six Flags Belgium scenario! You can also find examples of this ride in Deurklink Megapark, Class Action Megapark and Imagination Megapark, where they have been given some fun elements like a switchback, or even a drop track! You could go with the original supports the game gives you, or you could mix some tracks and give the track some beam supports. Show me what you can do!
Rules
You are allowed to team up with one other person in this round!
- Rule 1: You have to build a Mine Train Coaster on the map! Your Mine Train Coaster must mainly use the Mine Train Coaster track, but you are allowed to splice in sections of other track.
- Rule 2: You can use any train type for the mine train coaster. I recommend using the standard mine train, but companies like Arrow often used trains with 6 seater vehicles and no front locomotive.
- Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on the 27th of August at 19:00 CEST!
- Rule 4: For this contest, you are only allowed to use objects from the RCT1 and RCT2 base game and their official expansions, OpenRCT2-official objects, and custom objects that are included in the DKSO v2 bench. Custom objects that are not in the DKSO v2 bench are not allowed, so make sure you don't use those. You are also allowed to use a custom palette if you want.
- Rule 5: The maximum map size for this round is 3000 tiles. This number will be calculated by multiplying the size of the map edges. You could for example make a map that is 30 x 100 tiles, or 50 x 60 tiles.
- Rule 6: There is no limit to the amount of opened rides you can have in the park.

How to join
- Step 1: Join my Discord server. Discord is completely free! https://dkmp.wtf/discord
- Step 2: Build your map and decorate it!
- Step 3: When you are done with your contest entry, go on Discord, and send the save file to me in a Private Message. For the name of the save file, I want you to simply use the name that you use on Discord. For example, if your discord name is MantiNerd, for the save file name, use MantiNerd.park. After you have sent the save file to me, I will look if it follows the rules, and I will check for anything you can still improve. You can resubmit your entry until the deadline of the round, even if I have already accepted it. Please deselect all unused custom objects before sending in the save file!
- Step 4: Submit a story for others to read in the voting poll! You can do this by writing your story in a Private Message to Deurklink on Discord!
After the deadline has passed, I will put up a voting poll with all the entries. In this voting poll, everyone who is a member on my Discord, including you, will be able to rate all the other entries, and leave a short review.
When the voting period is over I will announce the results in a Youtube video!
