Creating a Slingshot Ride

Hey everyone! A slingshot ride is a ride where a vehicle is attached to two large towers with cables. When the ride starts, the cables are rapidly pulled in, which shoots the vehicle up in the air. In earlier versions of this ride large elastic bands were used, but those were prone to snapping.

In OpenRCT2 it's pretty simple to create a ride that resembles a Slingshot! First you will need to create a launched freefall with an invisible tower. For the vehicle it will look nicest to use a flying coaster vehicle, which will make the guests sit upright. Then you will have to create some decorative towers around the ride. They will often look great with a nice colour gradient on them. On real slingshots these support towers are angled, but in OpenRCT2 it is difficult to make towers that look like they have the correct angle, so they are usually just built vertically, with inverted impulse coaster track.
