Creating a Disk'O Coaster

Hey everyone! A fairly popular ride in real parks is the Disk'O Coaster! It is not really considered a coaster by most people, but it is a fun ride nonetheless! On a Disk'O Coaster you sit on a large rotating vehicle while facing outward. The vehicle then gets launched back and forth over a track with 2 spikes at the ends, and a hill in the middle. These rides are made by Zamperla, and you can find them in many parks!

These rides are very easy to make. Typically, Hybrid Coaster track is used to make these rides in OpenRCT2, but some people also like to use other tracks. Simply build 1 or 2 station pieces, and on the back add a large horizontal to steep transition (you could even go vertical). Then on the front, add a small hill. Then after the hill, place some more flat track pieces and then finally another horizontal to steep transition. Give the ride a Roto Drop vehicle and set it to powered launch (passing station) with several circuits. It will look nicest if the launch speed is such that it doesn't make it over the hill the first time.

It is also possible to make a diagonal version of this ride, but it will require some more advanced techniques like shoestringing, which will make it a lot more difficult to pull off!

The following video will show you how to build a Disk'O Coaster:
