Creating a Custom Swinging Ship

Hey everyone! The swinging ship you can place in Rollercoaster Tycoon looks fine, but many people want something in their park that is a bit bigger! Using a bit of trickery, it is possible to create your own custom swinging ship in OpenRCT2, and it is probably one of the more simple custom rides to build! Many people have made many variations of a custom swinging ship, so there are tons of examples on this website to look at. There's versions with or without a shoestring, and some people have even created diagonal versions.
Typically, these custom swinging ships consist of a short station platform of 1 or 2 tiles with a track that curves upward on both sides. A train that consists of Vertical Drop coaster vehicles is then launched back and forth several times (But many people have also used other vehicles on their swinging ships). The Ride Vehicle Editor plugin is often used to move Vehicle 1 of the train to a different spot, since the train will usually stop when Vehicle 1 reaches the front of the station.
