Nestled in a quiet coastal town south of Edinburgh, Magic Quarters was the dream project of famed Scottish amusement ride designer and theme park tycoon Chris Sawyer, then at the height of his creative powers. Sawyer envisioned a park in his homeland that would represent the pinnacle of his ambitions and put his previous acclaimed parks, such as Diamond Heights and Good Knight Park, to shame. Unfortunately, while construction was already more than halfway through completion, he got distracted with trains and lost interest in the massive project, leaving it in the hands of four senior engineers who struggled to finish it before the opening date. Even so, there is much to see, experience and purchase in the park, which is subdivided into four intricate and highly distinct themed quadrants surrounding a massive medieval castle. Inquisitive peeps can immerse themselves in the controlled desert landscape and eerie ruins of the Giza Walled City, the daunting verticalty of Trevithick Towers, the port town scenery and swashbuckling shenanigans Treasure Coast, and the witchy woodlands of Forever Forest.
